Robotics
We were so excited and pleased to have introduced our very first robotics team during the 2017-2018 school year at Telfair. With the help from Los Angeles Robotics a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation and a grant through the Nelson Team Grants for SoCal VEX IQ Challenge teams, our Telfair Tigers can participate and compete in the VEX IQ robotics program through The Rec Foundation (Robotics Education and Competition Foundation.)
With the continuously evolving technology and complexity of our world today, at Telfair we recognize the need to equip our young scholars with the necessary skills and knowledge to evaluate and solve complex problems through effective and efficient solutions. Introducing robotics to our students is one positive way to begin building these vital and necessary skills, as it incorporates all four disciplines of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) it also builds and encourages teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Our robotics team is led by our Team Coaches Second grade teacher Mr. Ayon and our Fifth grade teacher Ms. Mancilla.
